To me this is dumb, but what are they specificly going to ban? Runs behind the center or pushing forward on offensive plays?

It was banned, but that rule was removed by the owners because they said it was difficult to adjudicate.
Good. Don't like the play, get better at it. It's not the eagles fault they've perfected it.
The Eagles have a good enough OL and QB that they don't need a TE and RB pushing the QB forward...nobody does.
I'm old school, let the OL and QB work to get that 1 yard...it's called a QB sneak.

I don't really have much of an opinion on either side of this one. Can see validity on both sides. But, the fact that ban proponents were trying to make it a player safety issue without any data to back that up, kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Just be honest about why you don't like it, i.e. it's difficult to stop. Don't gaslight people about some BS safety concerns.
Just the pushing part was removed. Pulling is still technically illegal. They even mentioned that fact heading into the playoffs, as I think Buffalo had a couple of high profile plays where the ball carrier was clearly being pulled forward by a teammate to gain more yardage. However, since they hadn't called it a penalty all year, they were not going to do so in the playoffs. There were going to potentially revisit it this offseason as a point of emphasis.
Agreed. Run the QB sneak if you want. Piling a mass of humanity pushing behind the QB is not a football play.
Well Mahomes dislocated his kneecap running the play in 2019. This is why the Chiefs will never run a sneak/tush push with him.
I guess I've never seen it that way. There are formation penalties only allowing so many players in the backfield. I guess I don't see how it's any less of a football play than everything else. You snap the ball, you try and advance forward and the other team tries to stop you from advancing forward.
