The disparity between the top and the bottom in WBB is just so much greater compared to MBB. In any given year, there are only a handful of teams that can legitimately win a title.

Fairfield was going to beat KSU, Harvard over Michigan State, Norfolk State over Maryland, Green Bay over Alabama - never materialized.
