Kirby’s four year stretch that he averaged 220 hits is incredible. Plus all of those years where he had more than 650 at bats unbelievable. Plus game six. Minnesota has been fortunate to have some of the greatest hitters in baseball.

I can remember my brother buying a scholastic book written in 1963 or 64that said Harmon was ahead of Babe Ruth’s pace of 714 home runs.

I'd probably give the nod to Carew, but I think Carew, Killebrew and Pucket are all right there. All three were pretty similarly valuable in terms of things like OPS+ and WAR. A few big differences were that Killebrew probably hung around a few years too long and Puckett's career was pretty short. Killebrew and Pucket had some monster postseasons too.

All three very different players, but all are a pretty clear Big 3 in the organization all-time in my book.
Agree with your top three, followed by Blyleven and Oliva.

Would be awesome to go 5-2 against Guardians/Royals this stretch but 4-3 still not terrible.

Cleveland next has to go to Milwaukee then NYY so hopefully they drop some more games.

Maybe it’s my 3 decades of tortured Twins fandom talking but the Indians get hot at weird times. Moreso, the New York is playing better baseball just when we need to freakin Yankees to win and even sweep Cleveland, we ALL know they will somehow crap the bed.

I consider Mauer to be in that second tier with TO and Oliva. After that it gets fun to debate guys like Hunter, Santana, Morris, guys like that.
What about Marty Cordova?!?!?!???

Lifetime Twins fan here as well. My first game was at the old Met stadium - Roy Smalley was playing.

At least the Twins have given us 2 world series championships. The Vikings have torn my soul apart forever.

We were at the game Monday night. Great stadium.

Go Twins!

Rod Carew was, and will always be, my favorite Twin.
Agree!!! I'm a life-long Brewers fan (since 1978), but I grew up going to many Twins games & rooted for them in those games (never got to see them play Milwaukee in person, however). I LOVED Rod Carew & watching him play - one of my all-time favorite MLB players. BTW, I had one of those Rod Carew souvenir autographed mini-bats and it was one of my favorite childhood possessions (wish I had kept track of it)!

These young Twins pitchers have been absolutely clutch. Hopefully the ’ace’ of the staff can duplicate their performances tomorrow to take the sweep.
