Yea, wish I could’ve seen Carew play.in real time. But being a kid during the good 87-92 era was pretty cool.Think about what could have been if Carew hadn’t been injured for a majority of the 1970 season. 98 wins.

Agree with your top three, followed by Blyleven and Oliva.I'd probably give the nod to Carew, but I think Carew, Killebrew and Pucket are all right there. All three were pretty similarly valuable in terms of things like OPS+ and WAR. A few big differences were that Killebrew probably hung around a few years too long and Puckett's career was pretty short. Killebrew and Pucket had some monster postseasons too.
All three very different players, but all are a pretty clear Big 3 in the organization all-time in my book.
I consider Mauer to be in that second tier with TO and Oliva. After that it gets fun to debate guys like Hunter, Santana, Morris, guys like that.Agree with your top three, followed by Blyleven and Oliva.
Maybe it’s my 3 decades of tortured Twins fandom talking but the Indians get hot at weird times. Moreso, the New York is playing better baseball just when we need to freakin Yankees to win and even sweep Cleveland, we ALL know they will somehow crap the bed.Would be awesome to go 5-2 against Guardians/Royals this stretch but 4-3 still not terrible.
Cleveland next has to go to Milwaukee then NYY so hopefully they drop some more games.
What about Marty Cordova?!?!?!???I consider Mauer to be in that second tier with TO and Oliva. After that it gets fun to debate guys like Hunter, Santana, Morris, guys like that.
Lifetime Twins fan here as well. My first game was at the old Met stadium - Roy Smalley was playing.Maybe it’s my 3 decades of tortured Twins fandom talking but the Indians get hot at weird times. The pen is doing really really well right now.Twins win. Guardians lose. Twins back 3 games.
Agree!!! I'm a life-long Brewers fan (since 1978), but I grew up going to many Twins games & rooted for them in those games (never got to see them play Milwaukee in person, however). I LOVED Rod Carew & watching him play - one of my all-time favorite MLB players. BTW, I had one of those Rod Carew souvenir autographed mini-bats and it was one of my favorite childhood possessions (wish I had kept track of it)!Rod Carew was, and will always be, my favorite Twin.
And they have to deal with Yankees all next week, let them burn.Cleveland’s lead shrinks again.
