We thought that last year too and the first round was a complete dud.
So it's possible this season's tournament will be complete chaos during first weekend. It kind of ebbs/flows that way. I hope ISU can avoid first-weekend carnage.

Looking back at it, there were a few upsets in R64 last year, but nothing truly "bonkers." And after that it was somewhat chalky except NCST run to F4 and the West Region Elite 8.

Freeman is there only consistent player and is a huge loss. They needed a bunch of help to get to the tournament and that has pretty much ended as of today

Yeah but could they handle his game style? Defense is pretty alien to the Hawk fans.
It would cut into their knitting time. They know they can lower their heads and focus on knitting every time the other team has the ball since zero defense will be played by Iowa.

Defense in the short term had been forgotten at ISU fans during Fred and Prohm, but we relearned it when TJ came. Their fans will adjust if they see results.
