Teagan Kavan is a Freshman pitcher in the Longhorns rotation from West Des Moines. Went to Dowling but never played high school, she was strictly club.

Haven't heard about it much in regards to softball. Have heard about it happening more in volleyball where they just play club instead of High School.

Iowa is also a little different as it is one of the few states (maybe only?) that play High School in the summer right when I'm sure the best club competitions are going on.

Iowa high school season being in summer REALLY messes with opportunities to play college. Summer is when big tournaments are and highest chances to get recruited. Lots of high schools have rules against playing high school and club.
