The media really needs to check themselves on their SEC worship right now. They just refuse to accept the idea that just once the SEC should be left out of the playoff. The B1G, ACC, B12, and Pac have all had years where they didn't have a team in the playoff. Surely it is reasonable that once every decade or so the SEC would be the one left our.

FSU ran the table and took down two SEC teams in the non con. UT beat Bama by 10 at Bama. They deserve to be in.
CBS Sports have their 9 pundits predictions for the top 4. Only one has Alabama in it which seemed quite surprising.

I know I’ve been quoting Vegas lines. But it’s just data

Texas has moved to a huge favorite to make it.

FSU and Bama are essentially tied. Even money.

Georgia is still out in left field at 12-1

So I'll guess they'll draw this out and take a whole hour to get to the CFP?

I just want it to be done so I can know when ISU plays. Ideally that's the last week of December.

Oh they will drag this out until the very end with a whole lot of talking heads blabbering on about the same thing over and over again. This could be a half hour show.

Just put some money down on FSU to not make the CFP

Might as well make some money on this joke of a committee

It could be one Twitter post/press release that takes everyone 1 minute to read if they include a rationale for their decisions.

It's all about the arguments and clicks.

Maybe this was already mentioned but no undefeated P5 conference champion has ever been left out of the CFP. That would be quite the precedent.

Is this show like the bracket in March were we know quickly or is this a commercial show with the meat at the end?

Hasn't the March Madness one gone through some pretty bad times of not getting down to it? Perhaps it's been better the last couple of years. I can't remember.

But the playoff expands next year so they can get away with it without worrying about any future repercussions on who they select

Like 4 years ago CBS decided to release 1/4 of the bracket and discuss it for a half hour before releasing the next 1/4 and so on. They got dragged through the coals so bad the next year they did it right. They tried to stretch the thing out so far. It was horrible

Correct, it got leaked a couple years when they drug their feet, so now it is right away, as it should. Commercial breaks between the regions.

Didn't they basically break down each matchup as they revealed the brackets or something? It was just a terrible process.
