We are smjust going to have a massive protest at the fairgrounds instead. That way we won’t catch the Coronavirus. We are going to organize the massive protest at adventureland.
Tells you how passionate many of the protesters are. Can you imagine had the gov's and the POTUS precluded them from engaging their right to free speech.

What's the diff bt the crowds at StateFair, vs a Cyclone FB game, Beach, or a protest?
The fair averages a little over 100,000 people per day in what is obviously a more spread out area. Maybe think of tailgating for the Iowa game last year.

So I live a few blocks away from the entrance (I don't park cars because I like grass and not having strangers in my backyard). You would not BELIEVE how much money some of those houses on grand ave make. They will be hurting for sure.
My dad estimated some of the ones with bigger lots probably bring in 30-50ish thousand during the 10 days

This really sucks for the people that live around the fair grounds and rely on the money they make parking cars in their yards.

Hopefully Pepsi has prepared for the sale of Mt Dew 2 liters to drop like a rock.

I don't understand all these entities saying something is "postponed" until 2021. Just say it: It's CANCELED. Pet peeve of mine with all this COVID stuff.

Fully agree, but guessing there is a legal or accounting reason. Maybe by postponing they don’t have to return certain fees or deposits or start capitalizing costs or something.

Postponed is used because of the penalties in contracts for cancelations.

And for the rickshaw bike drivers shuttling customers while pedaling shirtless and smoking a heater...

Sucks but its what it is. I know quite a few families that the fair is their yearly family reunion. They all camp together at the fair and have for a number of years.
My parents did for years, in fact last year was the first time in 50 years that my folks did not camp at the fair.
Lots of good memories camping and hanging out at the State Fair camp grounds.
