Welcome to the 2020 Cyclone Fanatic Olympic Games!

Born out of necessity after the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics by the International Olympic Committee, the Cyclone Olympic Committee (le COC) organized the CF Olympics with one goal in mind: profit.

But, seeing as how nobody was willing to pay for television rights, the games will be hosted somewhere in South America and transmitted via text on an online message board.

Representatives from all around the world will compete in a series of made up challenges to determine which nation shall be showered with praise and envy.

Events will kick off on Sunday, June 28th with the Opening Ceremonies and the first event will begin Monday, June 29th.

Enjoy!

Competition 1 (will start Monday)

High/Low

upload_2020-6-29_20-16-18.png

Each nation will send the Cyclone Olympic Committee a whole number between 1 and 999 (via PM).

The highest number will be eliminated.

The lowest number will be eliminated.

The SECOND highest number will receive points as follows:
1000 minus the chosen number multiplied times the remaining players at the beginning of that day. (1000-x)*n where x is the chosen number and n is remaining players.

The SECOND lowest number will receive points as follows:
The chosen number times the remaining players at the beginning of that day. x*n.

Any player tied for the highest or lowest number is eliminated. Any ties for the second highest and second lowest numbers will each receive full points for the day.

All submissions are due by 7:30pm CT every night. If I don't receive a submission you are automatically eliminated. Changes to submissions are allowed up until the deadline. If you spam me though, I'll eliminate you so hard.

Public discussion via the thread is allowed and encouraged. You can lie. You can create alliances. You can sabotage. It's an all-nation melee.

Whoever has the most points once all but 2 players are eliminated wins. Even those already eliminated can win if they have the points.

Competition 2 - Drug Testing War

Two nights ago the COC administered drug tests to all of the athletes from Monaco and Russia. Surprisingly, 100% of the tests administered to the Russian athletes came back clean.

As such, the COC was suspicious and performed a raid on the Russian village last night. Le COC uncovered a large cache of what we can only assume is clean urine provided by non-Russian patsies (we suspect the Ukrainians). We hauled as much as we could to our labs for testing, but unfortunately we left 45 of the samples behind.

The game

The samples were left on 9 tables in the middle of the Olympic village. Upon waking, each nation immediately recognizes what these are and the advantage they could gain by obtaining the urine. The samples sit on the tables in the following manner:

Table 1: 1 sample
T2: 2
T3: 3
...
...
Table 9: 9 samples

You and each other nation send 100 athletes to the Olympic village to obtain the samples. You must choose how many athletes to send to each table. You will compete against one nation at a time to determine who gets to take home all the samples. Whoever sends more athletes to a table gets all the samples from the table. If you tie you split the points. Whoever gets the most samples of urine in a one-on-one match up wins that match up.

Edit: You MUST send at least one athlete to each table

Whoever wins the most one-on-one match ups wins the gold. 2nd most wins silver, 3rd most bronze.

Submit to me by Monday 7/6 at 7:30 how you will distribute your athletes.

Example:

5 participants

a chooses 100
b chooses 50
c chooses 200
d chooses 975
e chooses 925

b is eliminated for choosing the lowest number
d is eliminated for choosing the highest number
a receives 100 (chosen number) * 5 (players) = 500 points
e receives (1000 - 975) ^ 5 = 125 points
player c keeps playing but gets no points

Since player e chose 925, wouldn’t he receive 375 points?

Do we have a certain amount of time to get the numbers in? And when do we need to have our first number in?

We've encountered our first scandal. From one COC to another, the Comité Olympique Congolias demands the Cyclone Olympic Committee takes punitive action against the Commonwealth of Australia. With their “Kangaroo condoms, for the gland down under” conspiracy, the representatives of Australia are obviously trying to encourage competitors from other nations to expend their energy in unsanctioned activities instead of the games.

We are the representatives of Iran in these competitions.
And we hope to be good representatives for our country and to defend Iran's eyebrows in these competitions.
We know we have tough competitors, but we're not weak either
We love the role of the champions
Because the role of the champions is in line with our spirit.
