They hired Cinci's coach!

That's a very good hire after all that mess.
I don't know if any current college coach is looking to make the jump to the NBA, but there will probably be a handful of openings at that level in a week or so -
Washington, DC
LA Lakers
New Orleans
Minnesota (maybe?)
Minny is the exact reason I though Hoiberg to Nebraska was a complete joke. I thought he would get a shot at that job.
TBH, I think Cincy is a better job than Cal, Nevada, and StJ. It'll be interesting who they get. Billy Kennedy is available.High Major Changes:
Alabama: Nate Oats (Buffalo)
Arkansas: Eric Musselman (Nevada)
Nebraska: Someone (Unemployed)
Temple: Aaron McKie (Temple Assistant)
Texas A&M: Buzz Williams (Virginia Tech)
UCLA: Mick Cronin (Cincinnati)
UNLV: TJ Otzelberger (South Dakota State)
Vanderbilt: Jerry Stackhouse (Assistant with Memphis Grizzlies)
Virginia Tech: Mike Young (Wofford)
Washington State: Kyle Smith (San Francisco)
High Major Openings:
California (pursuing former Georgia coach Mark Fox)
Cincinnati
Nevada
St. John's

As backup-backup plans go it's pretty good. Odd fit, though. You don't typically associate the Pac 12 with the physical style of Cronin's teams. Who knows? Maybe that's exactly why it'll work.

If his health is OK, he could do very, very well at Cincy.Thad Matta has been angling for a job too.
