Arizona State and Michigan State both have MASSIVE alumni bases. That's a pretty easy call from a network perspective.
That game is the other one that sticks out but our game would be Gameday's first time in Ames and they've stated they have wanted to come here, it's an in-state rivalry that produces stellar games, and both teams could be rated.

Let's not get crazy here. They don't call it ¡El Assico! for nothing.
Well last year's game was decided in the final 5 minutes, the year before that was OT, then it was a butt kicking, then another game decided in the last 5 minutes, and then a time expiring field goal for the win.

Did you see who comes on FS1 before ISU? Just like basketball!

Hopefully, the 4 hour window is big enough! Not like the tight window they seem to use for basketball.

Saturday, September 14 Conference Network
12:00 PM Ohio State at Indiana Big Ten FOX
4:00 PM Arizona State at Michigan State Big Ten FOX
8:00 PM Oklahoma at UCLA Pac-12 FOX

12:00 PM NC State at West Virginia Big 12 FS1
4:00 PM Iowa at Iowa State Big 12 FS1
8:00 PM Northern Illinois at Nebraska Big Ten FS1

FOX would draw more viewers, for sure. AZ State/Mich St over ISU/Iowa is a little mind-boggling.

Love it! Perfect kickoff time! Night game would be cool, but IMO mid-afternoon kickoffs provide the perfect mix of tailgating and recovery time after the game. You can hang out for a while after the game and not get home after midnight.

Close games and entertaining games are not always the same thing. (Though any win is always entertaining in hindsight even if it wasn't that way in real time.)

Plus two different areas. Big 10 vs Pac 12. Iowa vs Iowa State has pretty much only Iowans and a few more watching. Huge for us, nationally not a big deal.

You're telling me that more than 2/3 of TV viewers in Iowa (more than this actually as I'm just comparing to Iowa's population) were watching this game last year (plus a few more)? I know we like football in Iowa, but that seems remarkable...

Cool for those of us just watching on TV...get to watch all 11 AM kickoffs, then take in whatever night game.

I'd assume the UNI game is a 7 PM kick on good ol' Cy TV. Hopefully the quality is above local high school coverage.

That's what I was thinking. I'd lost track of the discussion around a possible Gameday visit but I read somewhere that they could still come regardless of whether ESPN aired the game. But FS1 does not seem to help the cause, in my mind.

I think Clemson - Syracuse is where game day end up. ESPN night game & last lose for Clemson make the difference.
I'd rather they come for Texas game. Hopefully we're a top 10 match up that's too good to pass up.

2 states each with more population that Iowa by far. I don't disagree with it.
