I'm curious how you have Oklahoma State doing so well while starting a true freshman at quarterback. Not saying they will do poorly, but the second best team in the conference?

I see their offense dropping off significantly, from about 49 points per game to the low 30s, which is still decent. I think their defense improves over last year. Not enough to offset all the offense lost by Blackmon, Weeden, etc. They won't be nearly as dangerous as last season, but good enough that they are right there in the mix for 2nd the in the Big 12. I don't see them as significantly better than Texas, K-State, TCU, or even ISU.

Not trying to discredit your work, and it's certainly not because it's not common perception. I'm just saying it's next to impossible to predict. Statistician or not. There are so many factors that can't be taken into account in a formula.

This I can understand. What someone like me considers accurate might seem too far off target to be meaningful to others. Depends on your frame of reference.

There is a lot of variability in these things. A bigger chunk than you might think is predictable, and then the rest is random noise (or unidentified patterns).

You hit the nail on the head. Baylor and OSU lost too much to be able to replicate what they did in 2011 or to even come close to that success. Both teams take a dip in 2012
