Two problems that need to be addressed before success will come:

1) Team speed.

2) The ability to pressure the QB without blitzing. Continuing to allow the opponent to complete passes at a 70% clip just ain't gonna work...

I would add:

3) The ability to not only hit, but make a tackle. No one on our defense was able to lay the smack down this year. A lot of running and tugging but not much for wrapping up...unfortunately I don't see this changing next year with the inexperienced players that will be stepping on the field.

dont forget about Michael Tate who hurt his ankle before season start.. ive talked to him a few times and he is really excited to see the field, but he was also the one that told me Chizik just needs to chill sometimes

The schedule will be much more conducive to getting on a roll. Football is lot about confidence. Frankly, we will be able to score more than 17 points a game next year. We have to score to play in the Big 12.

I think the key for 2008 is ball control and red zone scoring. I believe ISU was near the top of the big 12 in keeping the ball on offense and chewing clock. If we can repeat that and get into the end zone a little more often once we hit the red zone that will really help our defense.

And of course the turnovers...:skeptical:

I think our safety play needs improved greatly. It seemed like James Smith would get burned a lot. Chuck Reid on the call-in show after the Mizzou game that the safety play is one of our weakest positions. (Kicker as well)
