Well, I might be wrong about what I predicted in here, but there are still 4 games for you guys left, so I'm still hoping you get there.
My biggest disconnect is the lack of development on the offensive line, something I think ISU should be able to do, even given the recruiting disadvantages in Iowa.
This leads me to start thinking about a coaching change, but this season would be an awfully difficult time to try to find a coach.
There isn't much reason this year shouldn't have been a 6 win season. Last year? No. This year? There was enough to get it done, especially since B12 teams could be easily exploited by someone who built an above average defense, and an o line that could run block. Which makes me wonder why B12 o lines can pass protect, which is a more difficult skill set, and not run block so much.
Anyway, college football has always been based on luck to some extent. Take my team. I've seen much more talented Iowa teams win fewer games. I've seen Iowa teams make significantly less mistakes than this year's team. And yet? Schedule, not as easy as some would like to think, but easy enough. And look where we're at? Attitude as an intangible has served them well.
So inversely, ISU has had better players before, and not done as well, and this year has better players sprinkled throughout both sides of the ball, and a few even on special teams, and results so far haven't been very encouraging.
BTW, there was a gentleman in Kinnick yesterday in my section wearing an ISU sweatshirt. Not one person there gave him any crap. Not one. Contrary to what some of y'all think, this is the large percentage of Iowa fans. I do think he was somewhat baffled that the crowd was as critical to IOwa as they were in the second half, and he actually asked about it
