These are the dumbest questions ever IMO.... comparing sports teams from one generation to the next. It might be fun, but it's impossible to do.

We are currently watching the best team of all time right now. These Warriors would handle the 96 bulls and I hate the Warriors. The NBA as a whole is better than in the 90s as well.

I would say modern era birds healthy celtics or magics healthy lakers then warriors and then bulls then spurs flip flop last 2. When talking about head-to-head series you'd have to compare matchups obviously

Neither Bird or Magic's teams would come close to slowing down the Warriors. The Bulls would have the best shot. The speed and athleticism on both those teams would be way too much for the 80's era teams.

Rodman was literally on the bad boys pistons teams and was about the 4th baddest boy on the team.....does anyone even NBA in this thread?

That's what my point was. Rodman was just another part of it, but went well beyond that in his time with other teams throughout the 90's.

Dreymond Green isn't in that realm.

Does anyone even read in this thread?

really? because by your OP seems you didnt know he played for the pistons. I mean re read it. Also he played for the spurs (I have the badass fa card from fleer with him and sleepy floyd to prove it) The bulls let him go, and as much as bulls fans want to claim him, he was a piston and he will tell you so. Any GM in the L today if asked would take Dreymond over Rodman in a heartbeat. Rodman is no joke an is a hof but Dreymond makes your team better no doubt.

You dismissed a guy who scored about 4 ppg more in the playoffs than anybody else who has ever laced sneakers as just "nostalgia" and said it's "cherry picking" to bring up likely the most impressive and untouchable stat in American sports history.

I don't think you get to decide who has valid opinions and make "no doubt" statements about anything with that kind of idiocy.

In a hypothetical world, if you told a lot of GMs they had the best two scorers in the NBA on the roster already, they might all sign up for the best rebounder of the modern era to be their third pick even if he wasn't a great scorer. It's not something a rational person instantly gets angry about and dismisses. Just like a rational person doesn't dismiss the greatest playoff scorer of all time with separation as "nostalgia"...it's a guy who pretty much never had a bad playoff series which to me (and anyone not consumed by some sort of weird anger) is something worth discussing in a hypothetical matchup.

I'm well aware he played for the Spurs and Bulls, and was definitely a Piston through and through. He was at his most controversial/explosive as a Spur/Bull IIRC, and basically just fit right in with the Bad Boys.

Green's a nice player, definitely a key factor, but I'd say any GM that would take Green 'in a heartbeat' didn't watch Rodman much.

Draymond Green last 3 years
Per 100 possessions
45% FG, 35% 3PT, 12.5 rebounds, 9 assists, 2.5 steals, 2 blocks, 17.5 points

Dennis Rodman three years with Chicago
Per 100 possessions
45% FG, 17% 3PT, 23.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1 steal, 0.5 blocks, 8 points

If all you need is rebounds, Rodman is your guy. If you want a guy that does everything, take Draymond.

Smells of Hawkdom with the stats. Next are you going to tell me Solomon Young didn't help last season since his stats weren't great?

I'm not saying it's cut and dry Rodman over Green...I just think people forget how crazy Rodman was, even with the Pistons. In the Bad Boys 30/30 James Worthy talked about things Rodman did that I don't believe Green is capable of....that's not a bad thing whatsoever.

You sound like a hawk saying Rodman does things that don't show up in the stats. What else do you want included? Eye pokes?
