I just saw that Vegas has Baylor favored by -2. I believe KenPom has Baylor as the favorite as well.

I haven't seen Baylor play much this year, but will be very interested to see how they look vs. KU tonight.

Kind of torn about this game. A win for Baylor helps everybody in the log term conference race. However, a win for Kansas ensures that they stay highly ranked for our Gameday showdown. Hmmm....

Tough game for KU tonight. Baylor plays a nasty zone with lots of length. KU will need to shoot the three well to pull out a win. Prince and Motley both look to be good players for Baylor. They don't really have a point guard at all so we'll see if that turns out to be a problem. No idea what to expect from this game. The more aggressive team will win, hopefully that will be KU.

We still have 2 ranked games before we even play Kansas.

Who gives a **** what Kansas is ranked now that we have Gameday? I hope they lose all their conference games now that ESPN is coming on the 17th.

Beating down a ranked Kansas team on national TV is a lot sweeter than beating down a Kansas team that people think is not so good. Good for our tourney resume as well to beat a higher ranked team.

We're going to have plenty of opportunities for resume building wins that don't involve Kansas.

The conference is still quite murky. ISU won with a gutsy home performance last night but gave no impression that they'll compete for the league title. UT deals with Barnes's coaching. OU doesn't play defense all that well, but can score with anyone. WVU is off to its best start and waits out the week for ISU and OU visits. So, I'd put it like this today, with next games in ().

Ku (@ Baylor)
WVU (ISU)
OU (K-State)

UT (@ oSu)
ISU (@WVU)

Baylor (Ku)
oSu (UT)

TCU (@ K-State)
Tech (@Ku)
K-State (TCU)

Stop worrying about what people think of ISU and start thinking about what best helps ISU. ISU isn't a bubble team that needs people to think nice things of them. If they want to win the Big 12 they need the other top teams (KU, OU, Texas) to lose as many games as possible. And for crying out loud, what teams are ranked when you play them does not matter. If KU ends up being either less than stellar or Big 12 champs at the end of the year then it will not make any difference what they were ranked when ISU beat them. You're worrying about things that only matter in message board fan bragging instead of what matters to ISU basketball.

Huh? Kenny Chery is one of the best point guards in the league and by far the best player for the Bears. With that being said I expect KU to handle them, Baylor is severly over-ranked.

QFMT. There's a small, very strange segment of posters on here that only want to play teams at full strength as if the win is somehow tainted if a star player sits out due to injury, etc.

Same sentiment in the post you referenced.

**** that. KU is a threat to win the conference, Baylor is not. We cannot have KU win road games if we want to win the conference.

Of course you would say that. You do not want to see a top 10 KU team embarrassed at Hilton.

For what it's worth, our only quality win so far is Arkansas (maybe Alabama and Georgia State, but debatable how good those teams will be at the end of the year) and Iowa (another team which we have no idea how they'll finish the year). A Gameday victory over a highly ranked team would resonate with pollsters and might be relevant come March.
