Weekly Intermat rankings are up. Big shakeups overall after Vegas, including a new #1 at 133. Still four Iowa State guys ranked. At 133, Earl Hall stays steady at #7. At 149, Gabe Moreno falls to #17 from his #16 spot last week. Jake Short from Minnesota, the guy who beat him, went from unranked to #10 (Short beat a couple ranked guys last weekend). At 165 Tanner Weatherman goes from #12 to #14. He pinned #10 Moore and beat #18 McFadden but also lost to #20 Gobbo and unranked White. Lelund Weatherspoon takes a big fall from #11 to #17 after losing to #8 Hammond and unranked Barrick but beating #20 Mahomes over the weekend.

Did a quick look at NCAA qualification progress since we've had four duals and one big tournament, giving a large enough sample size for it to be worth checking uot. 17 D-1 matches are required to be eligible for an RPI and a wrestler has to meet 2 out of 3 of a top 29(ish) RPI, a top 29(ish) Coaches Panel ranking, and a .700 D-1 win percentage. Remembering that the Big XII Championship is a qualifying event again so earning a bid just gives an allocation to the conference, so guys that are outside have the ability to steal a spot from another wrestler in Kansas City.

125:
Larson is 11-5 (.688) overall but only has a 1-4 (.200) record against D-1 competition. He might show up on the fringe of the coaches poll but I wouldn't count on it. His RPI will definitely be up there though. He's unlikely to earn a bid if he continues like this throughout the season. But there will be a lot of NCAA spots to go around at the Big XII tournament.

133:
Hall is 11-3 (.786) overall with a 7-3 (.700) record against D-1 competition. He's in the rankings for sure and probably also the RPI. Barring a total dropoff he's a lock for an NCAA bid.

141:
Dante is 10-3 (.769) with a 9-2 (.818) record against D-1 competition. He'd likely show up in the mid 20s in the coaches panel. Not sure about RPI but the first two would get him a spot. He's on track to earn a bid at 141.

149:
Moreno is 4-2 (.667) overall with a 3-2 (.600) record against D-1 competition. He'd be in the coaches panel for sure but needs matches to be eligible for an RPI. I'm not worried he won't recover, but right now he's behind the ball on earning an NCAA bid. We have 8 regular duals plus Midlands plus the Virginia Duals left, so he can't miss too many more events and still get to 17 D-1 matches.

157:
Breitenbach is 5-5 (.500) overall with a 3-4 (.429) record against D-1 competition. Rodriguez-Spencer is 9-4 (.692) overall with a 4-3 (.571) record against D-1 competition. Not sure if either would show up in the Coaches Panel or RPI right now. I'd say that we're out at 157 at the moment, but not irrecoverably so. Another decent win or two for Breitenbach would put him into the Coaches Panel.

165:
Weatherman is 12-4 (.750) overall with a 9-3 (.750) record against D-1 competition. He'd be in the Coaches Panel for sure so doesn't need to worry about RPI. Barring a total dropoff he's a lock for an NCAA bid.

174:
Weatherspoon is 9-4 (.692) overall with a 6-4 (.600) record against D-1 competition. He'd be in the coaches panel for sure but I'm not certain about RPI. I think he's still on track for a bid but can't afford many more bad losses.

184:
Pestano is 12-5 (.706) overall with an 8-4 (.667) record against D-1 competition. He might show up in the fringes of the coaches panel or RPI but I'm not certain. If he stays the guy at 184 the rest of the season he's slightly behind the ball on getting an NCAA bid but in a better spot than 157.

197:
Apparently this is a weight class that some teams have people at.

HWT:
Smith is 9-3 (.750) overall with a 4-2 (.667) record against D-1 competition. He might show up in the fringes of the coaches panel or RPI but I'm not certain. Like at 184, I'd say he's slightly behind the ball on getting an NCAA bid right now.
