Former Iowa State player Wes Johnson and Syracuse bounced back nicely from their embarrassing exhibition loss to defeat Albany 75-43. Johnson scored 12 points, grabbed eight rebounds and six assists in the victory that gave head coach Jim Boeheim his 800th victory.
The Ames Tribune reported last night that Iowa State has secured the verbal commitment of 2010 JUCO guard DeMarcus Phillips. While it could very well be true, CycloneFanatic.com has yet to confirm this report.
