The problem is, half of the living alumni of ISU likely are women who could give a rip less about athletics.

I can personally attest to the fact that my wife brought out the sports fan in me. I always enjoyed games and stuff, but she really unleashed the monster that is a real Cyclone fan. In fact, our NCC donation is in her name I think. The season tickets certainly are.

And I will almost guarantee that she knows more about the Kansas City Chiefs than 99% of their fans. She could probably name 90% of that roster.

I have always been a season ticket holder, but in the past I piggy backed on my friend's NCC membership for tickets and just wrote him a check (we split the costs). In the past we have been States 250, but I am bucking up as we all should.

Effective immediately, I am joining the NCC as my own person and at the Gold Plus level out of the gate (that's $1500 +). Hopefully I am not the only person to make this type of commitment.

By the way, I realize alot are students or recent graduates and may not have the means to donate at higher levels. Just do everything you can to make sure and buy season tickets and join the NCC at entry levels if possible and it still allows you to have a roof over your head, food on the table, and a little extra for tailgating supplies!

Go Cyclones.

(Shamelessly hoping to get rep points for opening my checkbook...<smile>)

Something I thought was funny that I learned over t-day break.
My sister married a Nebraska guy......she has never had an allegiance to any one team, but enjoys watching football.

They have something at Nebraska they call "Nebraska Football 101 for Wives" (or something named similar to that). She went and got on the field and talked with Zac Taylor for a bit. I found it humorous at the time, and I hope she doesn't become a fan, but it got me thinking that we should have something like that for ISU. Mmmmm....maybe I will email JP, although he may have heard of this it couldn't hurt!

I think we should consider a tye-in with women's basketball, it seems to be relatively popular and it can't be all guys who go to the games.

E grazie!

Truth be known, I'd probably me more pumped about the Pampered Chef promo than she would.:yes4lo:

Maybe JP can add some sexy male cheerleaders for the ladies. Give them a reason for going. Pink basketball uniforms? Finger sandwiches at a deli down below? Real clean ladies private bathrooms in the new stadium? Plush seats with built in cell phones for chatting? Things can be done.
OMG
Maybe that's what KU was doing with Tim?

How about a "Ladies Promotion" for each game? We already have Family day, Homecoming, Veterans Day, Lettermen's Day - finally got rid of that damn racing day.

But couple it with a "Ladies" activity. "Silpada Day", "Pampered Chef Day", etc. I think ISU (and Iowa) are doing and excellent job with the Breast Cancer promotion, although they need to step it up at the venues themselves.

Yes guys, I feel your anger towards me. My wife spends tons on that crap as well.
You got one of those too, huh?:sweet:
