    I’m guessing most of us are “okay with it” because the last three years in one of the best 3 year runs Iowa State BBall has ever had on the heels of the Steve Prohm debacle and in an NIL era where we are clearly at a financial disadvantage compared to many of our peer institutions.

    It’s a little late to fill AJ’s spot in June with another competent option. And I’m fairly certain the staff didn’t feel like strong-arming AJ and his dad by threatening to take a commit from a plan B. If I remember correctly that squad still got to the NCAA tournament.

    It’s not bracketed that way. Generally fairly random other than probably having UNC and Uconn on opposite sides. I suspect that people are going to be fairly surprised by our pre-season ranking next year. We will be in the Top 7 and likely the Top 5.

    We will have plenty of opportunities for resume wins in Maui and the Big East challenge. Maui teams are Dayton, Colorado. Memphis, UNC, Michigan State, Uconn and Auburn.

    Been watching non Big 12 basketball lately...

    I understand that Painter hasn’t been to a Final 4. But they have been a #4 seed or better in the last 6 NCAA tournaments. They have won 4 Big 10 titles in the last 8 years. They are definitely a Top 10 program over the last decade. I guess that’s my definition of a Blue Blood.

    Probably very similar to us losing Hasan Ward for the rest of the year. It certainly is going to have an effect on depth, rotation and their interior defense.
