    Which Fake Loss was Worse?

ISU woulda coulda shoulda had three straight nine-win seasons from 2000-2002 and two more in 2004 and 2005. The 2000 team did win nine games. The 2001 team won seven games and should have beaten Alabama in the bowl game. They also missed four field goals at Texas A&M and lost by 3. The 2002...

2020 Big 12 Championship Game Computer Projection

I see where you're both going. I think Dale meant Texas loses out and K-State only beats Texas but loses to ISU and Baylor. In that case ISU, OU, and OSU are 7-2 and WVU and KSU are 5-4. Texas is 4-5. WVU wins the tiebreaker over KSU for #4 and ISU is the only 7-2 team that lost to them.

2020 Big 12 Championship Game Computer Projection

As I read the tiebreakers, the team with the lowest scoring differential is eliminated rather than the team with the highest score differential being #1 and it going to head to head for spot #2. From the Big 12 site: Tiebreaker Procedure. If two teams are tied for first place both teams will...

2020 Big 12 Championship Game Computer Projection

Does the code account for scoring differential impossibilities? I thought about this scenario more today and it's impossible for ISU to finish last in scoring differential between ISU, OU, and OSU because we're +4 points, OSU is only +3 points, and this scenario would require OSU to lose and be...

2020 Big 12 Championship Game Computer Projection

You never know. I'd like to win the next two and know that a Big 12 championship game appearance is locked up before we play West Virginia. I like ISU in that game, but they're good enough to beat us if we don't play well that day, regardless of what we do in the next two games.

2020 Big 12 Championship Game Computer Projection

One I see is if ISU, OU, and OSU are 7-2 and WVU, Texas, and K-State are 5-4. In that scenario: Iowa State only loses to West Virginia the rest of the way. Oklahoma wins out. Oklahoma State only loses to Oklahoma. West Virginia only loses to Oklahoma. Texas loses to Iowa State and Kansas...

2020 Big 12 Championship Game Computer Projection

Best case scenario, ISU and OSU win out and ISU wins the rematch. Looks like if ISU wins its next two, we can probably afford to lose the last game against West Virginia. It's not a guarantee yet but it's close.

[Hold on, it’s not over yet] PATHWAY TO DALLAS

I thought KSU was average and living off the upset of Oklahoma until they beat TCU with a backup QB. Now I think they're a legit threat to win the conference, but I still have a sneaking suspicion that West Virginia is going to upset them and get off to a nice start before their schedule...

Okay, lets rank 'em after your win over OU ...

    1. Iowa State 2. TCU 3. Oklahoma State 4. Oklahoma 5. Texas 6. West Virginia 7. Kansas State 8. Baylor 9. Texas Tech 10. Kansas Not buying Kansas State. Their win over Oklahoma reminds me of some of our past big wins where we rallied from down big and won because of a bunch of turnovers...

And from the "I've heard this before" rumor mill ...

If not for TV money, it would make SO much sense to swap West Virginia with the SEC for Missouri, but Mizzou would have to want to come back.

    Purdy ESPN Heisman List #7

If ISU wins the Big 12 this year, Purdy could sneak in as a finalist. Next year's schedule sets up really well for a Purdy Heisman run as long as we can get the OL figured out early. He'll be on the radar to start the season and if we get through October at 6-1 or better, he and the Cyclones...

    Big 12 Championship Game Projection

The only ways we win out and don't get to the title game involve a three-way tie at 8-1 with Oklahoma and Baylor. If we win out and only beat Oklahoma by 1 point, we need Oklahoma to either lose to Baylor or beat Baylor by at least 4 points. If we were to beat OU by 1 and OU beat BU by 1, 2, or...

    Minnesota beats ISU (secret scrimmage)

I predict another year like we had two seasons ago.

    Big 12 Championship Game Projection

Just going off how good I think the teams are without crunching numbers, I think the one game we absolutely have to win is the Texas game. I see our best case scenario being 7-2 with 6-3 being far more likely. We could still get to the championship game at 6-3 if one of those wins is over...

    Rank Big 12 Football

There just doesn't look to be a ton of separation between teams 2 through 9 even though there obviously is some. Did you know that West Virginia outgained Texas by a yard and a half per play but was -3 in turnovers? Anybody can beat anybody on any given Saturday. Even Oklahoma isn't invincible...

    Iowa State +3.5 vs Baylor

The line opened today at Baylor -3.5 and has swung all the way to ISU -2.5. That's a whopping SIX point swing towards the Cyclones on the first day of betting. What that means is that there's a lot of money being put on Iowa State in this match up. I'm not an expert on sports betting, but you...

On to BU, where does the line start?

I'll say Baylor -4. Really anywhere from 2.5 to 5 points wouldn't surprise me. I would be shocked if we're favored even though I think we're going to win.

ISU (-20.5) opening line vs. Louisiana-Monroe

I think ISU is going to surprise some people and cover. I saw enough yesterday to think ISU is better than the results so far have indicated. At some point it's got to come together. ISU plays its best game up to this point and cruises something like 38-13 to head into conference play on a high...

Big 12 Expansion Suggestion (serious post)

The combined capacity of the ten football stadiums in the Big 12 is close to the entire population of the state of North Dakota.

It's 12:01 a.m., you know what that means.....

Hopefully the Clones and Hawks are both 2 seeds. ISU in the Big Dance and Iowa in the NIT.
