    Salaried Job

    there are people working over 40 hrs a week and still taking "furloughs" (although still working) and being paid for less than 40 hrs a week. sometimes it's nice to have a job if it's respectful of pay and position. no offense, but hopefully your friend remembers this.

    olde main's pub side is pretty good for some sports. technically sports bar? probably not. but that's where i've enjoyed many a game.

    grinnell is a pretty cool town, esp. for its size. you'd be surprised by the number of acts, arts and etc. they bring in.

    NBA scouts line up for tonight's ISU game

    i don't put much stock in the number of NBA scouts there. as the article points out, there are some baylor players to look at too. this is simply their job, they found a game worth visiting in person, and we'll see what happens. pray he stays, hope we win, the rest is until later.

    'Gran Torino' the Eastwood film will be awesome

    maybe it's just a matter of being marketed wrong. it certainly didn't have the suspense or high drama some of the ads made it out to be. it had more laughs than i expected. (plus, of course, eastwood's history had something to do with expectations too)

    i was also disappointed. it had its charms, but overall, didn't live up to the hype - or the clint. anybody that thinks this had any oscar potential in any areas is clearly doing it because of eastwood's past record.

    if i'm going to eat something w/the isu logo on it, i'd prefer it come from a branding iron. anyone know where you can get one of those? a quick search and all i got was other schools (one which shall remain nameless).
