    If you get north of Des Moines, the Twin Anchors golf course (by Colo on Hwy 30) has awesome ones as well. No grilled food in them but a great homemade mix recipe.

    Personally, I'd go with Dell. A couple of the main reasons....1 - Dell offers accidental damage protection for fairly cheap. So, you spill something on it or drop it, it's covered. 2 - You can get warranty work done onsite at ISU for Dell (as well as Apple) so you don't have to mess around...

    Nope. That was only a one time shot for whatever reason. Pate left ISU a few years ago and is a Texas A&M now. Doug Beck (academic advisor) is also at A&M now.

    It looks like Ames is way cheaper than Ankeny. I just looked up a friends house in Ankeny that is assessed at $165,600. Their 2011/2012 tax estimate in Ankeny is $3492. The Ames estimate for that same value is $2521.
