All Fanatics are invited to a special bike ride on the High Trestle Trail on Saturday, July 5th, starting at 8am at the shelter just east of the High Trestle Bridge.

We built the shelter in honor of my wife Judy who finished her battle with cancer five years ago. My son had the idea to have a bike ride that reflected her values. Judy was very health conscious in mind, body, and spirit. And she was an avid rider who drew lots of others into it. The High Trestle Bridge was one of her favorite spots.

Click on the link below for more details. It is a “community ride,” not a race and not a fundraiser. We just want people to enjoy a nice Saturday morning ride and maybe get to know someone better along the way. Healthy snacks (Judy-approved green smoothie muffins, energy bites, organic bananas) and water will be provided at the shelter and at our turn-around point in Slater (Grimm Park). Ride as short as 1.5 miles roundtrip (from the QF Lane parking lot west of Madrid) to 20 miles roundtrip (to Slater) or more if you go east of Slater or west of the bridge.

Also, if you want to learn more about Judy, here is a link to my post about her on CycloneFanatic.com.

Would love to attend. We have a tubing trip on Saturday. We did ride from Slater to Woodward and back yesterday. Always great to see people at the shelter and I always remember your prior posts about your wife and the shelter and I think about when I pass by it.

I thought some of you might be interested in seeing the signs we posted at the shelter near the High Trestle Trail Bridge.

Judy wouldn't have wanted anything that drew too much attention to her. So we featured her favorite rides and the group that participated in the first memorial ride.

Again, we hope that many of you will join us. All are invited.
