I finished Ringworld by Larry Niven last week and started Ender's Game this week.

It's interesting looking back on these older Sci fi books and see what problems they thought needed solving for the future. Both Ringwold and Ender's Game talk about population growth control. It is an interesting contrast to the current hubbub that there are not enough children being born.

It's also funny to see how Psionics carried on as a serious idea. Ringworld came out in 1970 and treated psionics as if it might be real.

I would still recommend it. It's arguably the best fantasy series I've ever read... sadly I don't think it will ever be finished, but it is still worth the read.
and if the 3rd book ever comes out, we get to reread them all over again.

Currently reading the terminal list series by jack carr. on book 3.

Tom Sawyer with my six year old son. He alternates between liking Tom’s antics and being bored with the language since it is little over his head. I just read a chapter and then we do some chapters from a Star Wars book.
I think I will do Shel Silverstein next for something a little more light hearted.

I've been reading the newest book (Wind and Truth) of the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. Really good as always, though at 1300 pages and only reading at night before I fall asleep, it seems like I'm hardly gaining ground on it.
I reread all of the previous books, including the novellas, before starting Wind and Truth. It took me a few months to get through all of that, but it was worth it!

Anyone read the CJ Box (Joe Pickett) series? I hear it's quite good.
I've read them. They aren't literature but good entertainment. I've also read the Longmire series. Between the 2 of them, there is a lot more crime in Wyoming than expected for our least populated state.

Was recently introduced to Jon Scalzi. Reading Lock In right now, with Red Shirts in the queue. Still not sure yet but willing to give him a chance.

I fell in love with Vonnegut back in the 1990s when I was still at ISU. Will read him over and over. Mostly his short stories - still working on all the novels. Would love to teach Slaughterhouse-5, but there's one small, small scene with a small small description of a sex act. At times, I hate living in Iowa.

Been an exclusive non-fiction reader most of my life. I used to read 20-30 books a year. Since having kids, my habit of reading has fallen off significantly.

Trying to get back in the habit of daily reading and switched to fiction so its a little less heavy. Currently reading The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. I'm almost done with the first book and planning to get through the whole series.

I recently listened to Lock In and Head On Audible books. Unfortunately I didn't realize it was a series until after listening to Head On but still an interesting concept and pretty good read/listen.

I really enjoyed that series. So much so I actually kept all of the paperbacks... which I rarely do.

The Wheel of Time. I'm somewhere in the book 5-9 range (It's a set on kindle and hard to tell which book). I'm also listening to The Armor of Light by Ken Follet while driving/mowing.
Doing my reread of WoT as well. About at the end of Book 3.
