Yeah most sushi places have cooked options, as well as non seafood. Sometimes they're not very good, but they can be fantastic. Sakari, in Des Moines, has a couple of rolls with steak in them, and they're really good. Not something I order every time, but as a change of pace, they're great.
I agree, steak rolls are usually great. It drives me nuts when people won't even step foot in a sushi place. Theres hibachi or fried chicken if you want something different. It seems that in Iowa most of the special rolls are fried rolls anyway.

I think French dressing is gross in general. As I get older, I like sweet sauces less and less. Notable exception is BBQ sauce, sweet is okay there.

I hate ketchup but love almost all BBQ sauce, whatever the subtle difference in spices is there goes from barf to pretty much #1 condiment.

If you put ketchup on my burger I'd say it was ruined, I don't need bbq on a burger but if it's on there, no problem.

Same thing with fries, I'd throw away ketchup packets but I'd use bbq if given to me. I'm sure I'm an oddity since it seems most Americans live off of ketchup and ranch alone.

Huge ongoing argument with the wife ...
She prefers canned green beans over fresh. They are so nasty, mushy, taste like the metal inside of the can.

A crisp, oven-baked green bean coated in garlic salt and parmesan cheese is the only way to go.

I think canned green beans have to be something you grew up with.

There's absolutely no way somebody who grew up with fresh steamed or boiled would prefer canned. They taste totally different. A lot of frozen veggies are pretty good but frozen green beans are weird too.

We have to be swiftly reaching a point where the raisins in cookies generation has passed on, right? I don't like putting the words "Grandma" and "disappointment" in the same sentence, but damnit Grandma.
Out: putting raisins in desserts like cookies

In: putting raisins in main courses like Moroccan dishes. Sounds weird but one of my favorite recipes is a Moroccan chicken and couscous that has raisins and cinnamon.

Oddly I love tomatoes in all forms but will only eat ketchup with fries, and even that’s only sometimes. Just don’t like ketchup.

When I whip up a pseudo bbq sauce when smoking meat there is no ketchup involved. Molasses and honey as the base with vinegar and spices.

The only thing canned green beans are preferred for is green bean casserole for the holidays. The fresh just don't "casserole" correctly.

Other than that, yes the fresh are much preferred. Stir fry in some olive oil or peanut oil with some fresh garlic and a bit of seasoning... yum.

I like ketchup on burgers, brats, tenderloins and hotdogs.

Put ketchup on fries and I'm not eating them. I do love to dip them in BBQ sauce!

We blanch and freeze garden beans. We then steam them with a pat of butter and seasoning. Love em.
