Cubs need to open checkbook now. Only gonna get more expensive
They offered him 75 mill at the beginning of the year and I’m not sure 175 mill gets it gone now. This sudden power boost sends him to a different stratosphere

Tucker is going to basically take up the Happ and Suzuki money after ‘26 if they are able to extend him and if Caissie is ready, it would be wild to have an OF of PCA, Tucker, Caissie locked up for 4 years.

Still confident in Shaw coming back up before long and hitting as well. The offense is right up there with the best and some elite defense in spots as well.

Zero excuse to not be aggressive adding pitching. We’re at least a starter and two bullpen arms short, not counting any potential internal adds to the big league roster like Horton.

I still don’t get why they didn’t sign David Robertson, all it takes is some money and it sure looked like last year he still had some gas in the tank. I don’t think the Pressley experiment is going to work out at all. You can’t be an effective big league reliever if you can’t strike anyone out.

Only sliver of a silver lining is Horton was dominant again today. So he’s set to step in on Saturday in New York

Better yet do a bullpen day on Sunday and throw Horton at home v. Marlins next Monday.

Steele
Assad
Now Shota ( that really looked more like a hammy not cramp like last outing )
We are quickly running out of depth.
Flexen might be the only other realistic option
