I was an asst manager at a music store when High Fidelity came out, and it was so accurate down to the lists, our music pretentiousness, and weird clients. Love the book and movie.

However, I have heard he is a dickbag so I am not sure about this?

Cusack doesn't get to "steal the spotlight" in many scenes in BJM, but his grasp of the character is outstanding throughout.

Underappreciated movie. So strange and quirky but one hell of a concept.

Same. I've read that he hates having Better Off Dead quoted to him, which is a shame 'cause it's such a quotable movie.

Years ago I read an interview where he said he hated that movie because it made him look like a fool. I just assumed he mellowed out about it being that really was his break out role.
He produced Hot Tub Time Machine and you hear a kid in the background say the infamous "I want my 2 dollars" so I figured he finally stopped whining about it
