Just stop taking any freshman at all. They either won't play or think they should and bolt. I hate what this sport had become, it's a shell of itself. I don't know why when 95% of people hate thus nobody will do anything about it.

This is the 1st year we didn't have a freshman play impactful minutes.

We still need dudes in practice.

Nojus lost his spot to a walkon.

We still need to recruit freshman.

You should stop following and posting about college athletics. If you don't you are only an enabler.

It'll be okay. Sometimes it doesn't work out but that doesn't mean stop trying. Better for both parties to break now and find a better fit. Good luck to NI on his next stop.

Trust me this years freshman class will get playing time and will we'll all be happy to see them as Cyclones for multiple years.

Agree. Some on here have made excellent points about Tamin and Milan being the only HS recruit that has stayed or panned out. I’m not even going to get excited about or follow high school basketball recruiting anymore. TJ has had some great classes, but everything has become a joke. I was really excited about Nojus and this sucks. Maybe this years class will change that for me though.

no denying tj hasn't really hit on freshman outside of tamin and milan. But that's 2 in 4 years. Is that good? I don't know.

If you could at least get 1 a year, that would be great and then supplement with transfer portal.

The CBS talking heads were discussing playing time after one of the tourney games this past weekend. Barkley said that he advises young players to go where they will get playing time. He says it is a waste of college experience to sit on the bench.

Of course these days, a huge NIL deal may have some bearing on the matter.

ISU will not survive without being able to retain talent at a discount. You have to keep rolling the dice on prep players.

Sad it didn't work out with Nojus but his handle and defense just weren't where they needed to be this year. I won't be surprised if he's successful elsewhere though.

Batemon, Toure, and Pleta are going to get run, imo.

I guess I'm not sure what following high school recruiting does anyway since there's always a chance guys don't pan out or leave.

ISU's had some really strong classes over the years with lots of hype and they fizzled with one or two decent years before jumping to the NBA or just not being that good.

It's a little like thinking how things go in November/December=the same by March but I'll stop there.

This is the main problem, how do you know things wont work out when neither side is giving the other side a chance anymore?
So the solution is just don't recruit a freshman and not try? For every Nojus or Omaha there is a Tamin or Milan where it works. Every player wants to play and should be able to find a good situation for them.

ISU is trying to become a consistent top 15 team every year and thus need to be honest if a player is going to be recruited over. Taking Bateman and Toure the writing was on the wall.

As in "run" off the team? It's likely at least 2-3 of the 4 we bring in won't even be on the team a year from today.
You can infer that I do think that happens with one of the incoming prep class.
