Well, I made it home from KC in one piece. Saw many of you down there in what is always a fun reunion. Watched a frustrating loss by the Sisters that they fought hard in. I walked away proud of the effort they put out there. As often is the case in losses, it was self-inflicted wounds that hurt the most in this one.

For the first round, I don’t think the seed ISU will be at…an 8, 9 or 10…makes any difference. You get the same level of opponent. Crooks will be a matchup nightmare for anyone. The key will be guard matchups. A quick guard court has always been our nemesis. Of course we need the good Brown and the contributions of our other guards to be successful. My one wish would be to see our team learn how to set effective picks to get outside looks.

Another non-foul was Addy being smacked inthe face by a Baylor player after a rebound. She stopped... bent over in pain. Time was called by the officials. But no review???? No foul???* or did I just miss that? But no foul.

I think a foul was called, but it was not reviewed to be possibly upgraded. It seems to me any contact to the head should be reviewed even though the game flow gets slowed down as a result.

Thanks for the write up. After that first 5 minutes things could have gotten ugly, but the ladies did a great job battling back.

I’ll have to give Baylor credit, they did a great job defending the perimeter and Addy, Even though I think they should have been fouled more.

We need a guard who is good at creating their own shot like JJ Quiterly (No duh), but at the perimeter. Or at least someone who can catch and shoot in under 2 seconds.

I'm a long time WBB supporter and ticket holder. However, I was very disappointed in our defensive plan for last night's game. We played a very laid back 2-3 zone, especially in the first half with minimal ball pressure. Baylor had very little difficulty in getting into their offense and shooting 3's from the outside. On the other end, Baylor picked up our guards at the center line with intense pressure. No wonder any of our guards couldn't get off an outside shot. I think coach needs to take a page out of TJL's defensive book - time to play some tough one-on-one. What are your thoughts?

they made 6-23 threes and we were 2-10 the problem was they took 61 shots and we only took 49 as we had 12 more TO's which they got 20 points from

You couldn't be more wrong about last night. We played our best defense of the year last night, without question Yes, we struggled early to guard the perimeter. But after Baylor's initial run, our guards ran them off the 3 point line, helped, recovered, and forced them into tough shots or flops. Ryan, Jackson, and Joens were great on that end. I hate Fennelly's defensive tactics, but last night was fantastic. If we tried to play like Baylor with our roster, we would give up 90 on fast break layups.

See what kcdc4isu said. Our perimeter defense was really pretty good and the zone prevented or allowed our guards to do a nice job of cutting off their driving guards. What I think was key was their ability to get a shot off quickly. Some of our guards seemed hesitant and I wonder if that was a product of being beaten on all game and not getting calls? I remember a couple of times, one being Joens, where the open three point shot was there and she hesitated before dribbling and trying to pass the ball. Baylor had quick trigger fingers.
