As a reference to the conference being old - the first three teams consist of:
  • 6 Graduate Students
  • 6 Seniors
  • 3 Juniors
  • 4 Soph (including the two from ISU)
  • 1 Freshman
I think this trend will continue given the low WNBA pay. The ad money all goes to a handful of players. Can probably make about the same or more in college

WNBA Rules prohibit players from leaving early - the difference this year was the last group of COVID years. Also I think Prince is in her 7th (maybe) year. (too lazy to look it up)

Well, the WNBA rule is 22 years old or four years out of high school so leaving early like the guys do isn't an option anyway unless you jump overseas. Agree the pay isn't great (I actually think it sucks) but the choice to go early like the guys can do isn't there for the gals which is also weird and unfair.

With the end of the COVID bonus babies after this season players only get to play four years so we won't have super-seniors anymore. Ryan, Prince, Van Lith and company are the last of those.

There are so many fewer spots in the WNBA it is hard to make a team, even for really talented players.
