Glad Chris pointed to the 4 Ts (or was it 3 Ts and a flagrant 1?). Anyhow, how many points did ISU get from all that? Maybe 6 points? Max would've been 8 FTs + 4 offensive possessions. Didn't convert enough free throws and I think all possessions afterward were empty (I'm doing this from memory).

Still might've lost anyway, but many of those came at junctures when we needed a little juice/boost to narrow the gap, and couldn't take full advantage.

2 techs and an F1.

F1: Lipsey make, Lipsey miss: Momcilovic turnover (1 point)

Tech #1: Jones miss, Jones make; Jefferson turnover (1 point)

Tech #2: Jones make, Jones make; Jefferson miss, Jackson off reb, Jackson make (4 points)
That cut it from 12 to 8.

Thanks! I wondered if it may have been slightly better than I recalled. I think I mainly remembered the F1.

This season we have seen ISU be great, good, meh, and terrible. I think I’ve seen more good than great, but more terrible than never thought I’d see. I think the final four talk is too much and I think they’re a good team, but are missing the things to be great. Lack of care for the ball, lazy defense at bad times, inconsistent FT’s, “sleep walking”, stagnant offense with zero movement.
I once had the highest expectations for this season, but reality has slapped me a few too many times. Tough stretch coming up- let’s go Clones. Nut up.

It's amazing how important last year's bigs were in getting the job done on D, it makes all the difference in the world with a TJ team. This year's bigs just aren't nearly as good on the defensive end, and the results speak for themselves. Definitely need to look for some D-first bigs in the portal this summer.

Overall they play good teams well, they can play down to the bad ones. That sure seems like a focus issue

why all the turnovers? They just are not focus poor passing and lack of running any set plays

I was looking on Torvik the other day and we've actually played the easiest schedule in the entire Big 12 this season. Really disappointing to have 6 losses at this point.

2024: “no team can win a championship if both offense and defense aren’t top 25”

2025, both offense and defense are top 25, but we lose a couple games with major players out and it’s “offense be damned, we need more defense”

I can't believe all the people that forget what this board was like when we lost to IL, last season because we couldn't score with them. It was all "who cares if we're #1 in defense, if we're 50th in offense, we can't get past the sweet 16"

If last year's team had lost Milan or Keshon for any games, they would have looked pretty bad, too.

Do I think we'd be better, this year, with 3rd year BRE and 2nd year Ward in place of Chatfield and Jackson? Probably. Do I think we'd be better with Tre King and BRE in place of Jefferson and Jackson? Not at all.

Fact remains that, at full strength, this year's team is still one last second tip in from being undefeated.

With Milan and Keshon at full health, the step back in defense and the TOs are more than made up for in offense and being able to clamp down on D when needed.

You also have to remember, when comparing, you're not getting this year's CuJo on last year's team. This year's CuJo is a big upgrade from last year's.
