I agree of POY and FOY. There’s no one close to Gibb. Sundell carried her team. Sadly, COY will go to whoever wins the conference. It never seems to be who does more with less, but who does what’s expected with lots of talent.

COY is not an over achievement award. A more with less award would be between Houston, UCF, ASU and BYU. College coaching isn't like pro sports where the team coach is handed the roster by a general manager. In college hoops a coach is the GM and the coach. If the roster is "less' that's on the coach as much as coaching the team play. A person can be a great gameday and preparation coach but it if they can't recruit they are never going to be great.

I don't know who should be player of the year or who will get it. Crooks is the top scorer but she is not the best player. The player of week award have been all over the place with one one player dominating. Freshman of the year will be unanimous for Gibbs, no one other player should even be considered. Crooks may get it by default since no one has been crazy great for any of the top teams. The top scorer for a non title contender isn't a shoe in but if we finish 12-6 it at least takes her out of the category of higher scorer on a league 2nd tier team.

This weeks POW was Gianna Kneepkens, Utah, G, Jr.

A list of Big XII WBB Leaders for the 2024-2025 Season:

I'm a fan of the advanced metrics which purportedly address both offense & defense:
Player Efficiency Rating: Sedona Prince
Box Plus / Minus: Gianna Kneepkens

While she won't be awarded Woman of the Year anytime soon, Sedona Prince is probably the most important player on the TCU team which should win the conference. There is a compelling case to be made for Gianna Kneepkens, unfortunately nobody ever sees her play!

BUT…if a team is picked to finish lower and they are coached up to achieve much higher than expected…that should and isn’t taken under consideration.

In regards to prince, do you remember what she did against Audi? 1 rebound 3 assists and 0 points before fouling out. dont think with that performance she should be considered at all. let alone with all the allegations against her, dont think the big 12 will want her as a player of the year. JMO
