When one of the MI movies comes on Hulu, I'll generally watch it for a little bit if there's nothing else. I can separate movies 1 and 2 easily enough since they were both before my daughter was born, but my memory of 3-7 is more like a clip-show versus a fluid storyline. Plus, my mind likes to throw in some Daniel Craig Bond movie clips for fun.

I know I liked part 1, but I'm 100% gonna have to re-watch it before I watch TFR.

#3 stood out because Philip Seymour Hoffman killed it. Otherwise, they all kind of blend together.

I saw it on IMAX. The airplane scene was the only time that I thought watching it on IMAX was worth it. If you like MI movies, you'll like it especially since it has so many references back to prior ones, but it doesn't stand out much from the past few McQ versions. Feels similar to 6 and 7 in structure though there were a few times where even I thought, ok, no way he should have lived thru that. Just not believable but whatever, still a fun movie though at times, it feels like they keep doing movies so Tom Cruise can try crazier and crazier stunts. The stunts are more the main thing than the actual movie.

I thought the last one was the final one.

I'll probably see this one but the recent MI had about one hour too long of physically impossible situations or stunts.

Technically you’re correct - the last movie was just Part One of the final one, and this is Part Two.

And if physically impossible stunts aren’t your thing … you probably won’t care for this one. :)

(I thought it was okay, appreciated the nods to the previous movies, but it was like retreading the territory/structure of the last several entries in the franchise. The repeated theme of “this is all your fault, Ethan, the world wouldn’t be in this situation except for you, you know that, right?” and the continued use of “reckoning“ in the dialogue were both a bit much.)
