If I were the Marlins I'd walk Hoerner with they way he's been hitting.

Canario trying to hit a HR instead of just trying to put the ball in play in that moment tells me he absolutely shouldn’t have been taking that at bat. Would’ve been a tough pinch hit appearance for Busch or Belli but Gomes was available. God dammit

4 blown saves by Alzolay now is concerning. The sad thing is do we have a better option on the roster right now to close games? Maybe Neris but he's been roughed up some already too.

And I'm still not a fan of Wisdom. 1 for.8 with 4 strikeouts in his first games back. I'm sure at some point he'll roll off a hot 2 week stretch like he always does then return to being a strikeout machine for a good chunk of the season.

I don't think we have an option on roster right now. Maybe there is some kid in the minors but don't think I've heard of one that is ready.

He was literally the only offense today

Honestly I think you go by committee the next 4-5 days and once he’s gone through his usual rest, throw Assad in the 9th. Dude just takes everything given to him and busts his ass to make it work.

Thats a scary thought too. I don't trust Keegan Thompson enough yet to give him some chances there, in 2022 maybe but he was awful last year. Maybe Leiter but he's been a good setup guy capable of throwing 2 innings if needed. Should have spent on another proven high leverage reliever. May need to jump at the opportunity to trade for one once some teams are ready to deal some guys.

When it comes to early sell off teams I have in mind (A’s, Rockies, White Sox, Marlins) the only relievers I’d have any interest are Miller, who the Athletics would never trade, and Kopech, who will cost an arm and a leg, and they’ve fleeced us in recent history

Kopech for the White Sox has looked pretty good as a reliever this year. Guessing Sox would try to get a ton for him though. At least from the Cubs.
He's been a good closer and probably best position for him. But I think he wants to be a starter.
