I appreciate Blum's overview of the officiating calls, from ref-insider perspective. Still hate the calls, but like to get his take.

A telling detail re: inadvertent whistle - if Blum's assessment is accurate - the official "expecting" a player to call timeout. That might be the reason for early whistle, but that should not happen. Don't tell us what you think is going to occur, wait until it does. In a situation like that, what's the rush?

One thing I learned about Cyclone basketball on this podcast: Billy Fennelly doesn’t do coach speak. I appreciate this boldness, and will be fully on board if he’s the heir apparent to his dad.
