Oh, to have a game with the #1 or #3 team in the country and be able to argue about whether the coach made a correct call to win or lose the game!

i must have missed this game we played in. When in the history of Iowa State basketball did we play in a regular season game that high profile?

must have been when Fred was here, but it escapes me.

No, he is calling out people who were slamming Prohm saying it is a no brainer decision, that you should 100% foul in that situation every time when he knows that it is a 50/50 choice and either - or neither - could be the winning answer.

I’ll say it again. If you were offended by the tweet, you are exactly who it was aimed at.

No. 2
ISU 104, Purdue 96- West Lafayette 11-24-87
ISU 84, Oklahoma State 83- Ames 2-15-92
ISU 80, Kansas 72- Kansas City 3-11-95
ISU 63, Kansas 61 (ot)- Lawrence 2-19-05

No. 3
ISU 82, Missouri 75- Ames 2-14-89
ISU 70, Kansas 66- Ames 3-4-92
ISU 69, Kansas 65- Ames 1-14-95

I know. I was mocking the guy who said it. It was silly.

I think he'd probably like to have this one back. Trolling the fan base that continues to show up to support the team during an absolutely abysmal stretch is a bold move. Not to mention this tweet was sent a few hours before taking our worst loss in the history of Hilton.

And what's the point of this? The game he's referencing is like 2 months old? What reaction did he possible think he'd get? "You're right, Jamie. Depsite the multiple 20+ point beat downs and loss to Florida A&M this is proof positive Steve is a good coach. Thanks for correcting me."

I doubt he wants it back. Jamie is way to proud of himself to spend time second guessing his tweets.

thought it was pretty funny myself

Hi Jamie!

Honestly the season is lost. I have become a large follower of wrestling this year. I hope next year Prohm figures things out, if not, goodbye. I didn’t even bother going to a game this year but we did take the family to a wrestling meet. First time at a meet and had fun vs UNI.

Too.

sorry he supports his staff. Sorry you’re butt hurt by it.

Great catch. I'm almost to ashamed too post again. Hopefully it doesn't drag my grade down two far.

He should support his staff, especially after that assinine extension at the end of last season but he can easily do so without taking shots at the fanbase that is the lifeblood of the entire athletic department.

Btw the s in your first "sorry" should be capitalized.

Wait, so we are melting down because of the age old foul/don't foul arguments? Pretty sure the stats were close to 50/50 and I think it's much more of a feel type call but there is no right or wrong.

Can anybody on this board remember early in Fred's tenure, when we lost a game on a last second shot, and Fred Called Tim Floyd and Floyd said..."I used to defend but now I FOUL".....I thought it was interesting at the time, this is an age old argument where there is no definitive answer....Argue On guys.....and GO Cyclones and beat Jaime Dixon Tonight

I haven't read this whole thread but I'll tell you what JP's tweet means...he's digging in his heals with Prohm. People thinking a down year next year automatically means Prohm is gone should reread the tweet. JP is sticking with his guy.
You may be right, but who and what defines "down"? Is winning 19 games but just missing the tourney still going to be considered "down"? Or is it looked at as improvement with a young team with the best yet to come. Those who are saying make the tourney or off with his head are more than likely the individuals JP is addressing.

This was my thought as well. I think JP is willing to see this thing all the way to the bottom before he admits he was wrong.

Obviously an NCAA tourney appearance clears him, as well as an NIT appearance. Both would show marked improvement. The "tourney or bust" people are just setting themselves up for disappointment. I would go as far as saying a team that misses both the NIT/Tourney but protected Hilton better or maybe pulled off an upset or two would show enough promise to JP. I could see a team whose record is not much better but loses a bunch of close games. Point being, it would take another near disastrous year like this one for Prohms seat to be seriously hot.

Watching KU-OSU game last night, Fran Fraschilla made a great point, the Big 12 is full of excellent coaches, and unfortunately CSP just doesn't stack up against his peers, I have him 9th out of 10 in the league. It's time to bring in some young blood (we missed out on Nate Oats).

1. Self - KU
2. Drew - BU
3. Beard - TTU
4. Kruger - OU
5. Huggins - WVU
6. Weber - KSU
7. Dixon - TCU
8. Smart - UT
9. Prohm - ISU
10. Boynton - OSU
