Probably the same reason guys like Elsbury couldn’t get better offers than Illinois or Purdue.
Once they shut it down they shut it down. Happens all of the time.

So we beat out Ferentz for a TE and have the best TE in the state currently? Who's the real Tight End U?
Campbell offered him as a QB and its obvious Dean wanted to give QB a shot.

I am going to say Snyder and Ferentz. KF needs to get his win % up to 60 before retiring but I think he gets there.
Rivals says no Iowa offer. ESPN says no Iowa offer. All the sites should have the same offers, if they don't then I suspect if they ever had an offer from said school. I follow recruiting closely and never heard one single time that Newell got an Iowa offer. No tweet, no article, no insider on an Iowa board, nothing. Then commitment articles list no Iowa offer.

Going to be tough. His Maine years are really holding him back.
It is tough being an ISU fan who's team didn't live up to the hype last year. It was great getting a 10 win season at Iowa. I have a feeling it will be much the same disappointment for ISU fans come next Jan as they are disappointed now in the '19 season.
Yet, those two rankings make up a large percentage of the 247 composite, which is your go to.
