I wouldn’t say “lucky bounces”, I’d say a few less controllable mistakes. The repeated mistakes we made weren’t us being unlucky.

But the silver lining is that they are all correctable moving forward.
Our corners need to improve also. That's a big thing that hasn't really been talked about. Our corners had no interceptions this year and struggled in coverage at times.

Many people have said this but Baylor was the bottom feeder of the Big 12 for a decade+ with all of that Texas talent. It’s good coaching and solid recruiting that’s got them there. Briles is a garbage human and should never coach again but he could win games. Rhule is a damn good coach and a solid recruiter. Sure they have ACSESS to talent but they’ve found the right coaches to get them to the top of the league.
The Panthers gave Rhule a seven-year contract reportedly worth around $62 million, putting him among a handful of the top-paid coaches in the league. Kinda helps say where MC fits into the pecking order.
