Big 12 indoor track proves ISU is a cross country school

Cailie Logue won the 10,000 in her debut for that event. Teammate Amanda Vestri, finished 2nd.

The men finished 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th in the 10,000.

Men have performed well in the hurdles the past few seasons. Coach Frank Rizzo (not of Jerky Boys fame) has done very well. ISU has 3 finalists in tomorrow's 110 hurdles and 2 finalists in the 400 lows. Also got 3 guys in the 800 final tomorrow.

Men did finish 2nd in the Big 12 indoors with 109 points so they are not terrible by any stretch. With the right breaks- will contend for an NCAA title next fall in Cross Country. Finished in the Top 10 the past two years.

Women have some tough injuries but pretty much have a similar balance. Long distance and impressive hurdles. Women have some very good 110 hurdlers. Need more depth every where. 3rd women's coach in 6 years has really hurt recruiting.

Lots of roster changes over the next few months. Some will hurt- some will help

Just so you know, my "cross country school" comment is a little tongue in cheek. Didn't mean to imply we aren't good at other events, just really good at distance.
