Wonder if any of Geno's assistants wants a program of their own?

She got fired at NC state a few years ago for having terrible teams. I would think a high profile women’s program with a boat
Load of money could get one of the top coaches in the country.

Trying to figure out who that next great coach is ain't easy. Who is the next Geno, Tara or Muffet? There are always some decent MBB coaches getting recycled from school to school, WBB not so much.

Do you have any information about how things actually went down for Harper at NCST, or are you just basing your opinion on wins and losses? The decision by AD Lee Fowler to hire her was a sensitive one for many surrounding the program. Kay Yow’s choice to replace her, Stephanie Glance (assistant coach), was ignored in favor of young upstart Kellie Jolly. Debbie Yow, Kay's sister replaced Fowler as AD that same year.

The Missouri State community, on the other hand, has fully embraced and supported her and that support has resulted in getting the Bears’ program back to the level of respect they had when assistant Jackie Stiles was a player.

Not saying Kellie would be the most qualified coach for Tennessee. Tough job for anyone to meet the expectations set by the legendary Pat Summitt.

Another interesting tidbit is that if Kellie was hired by Tennessee, she wouldn't be able to keep her husband on staff as assistant coach due to State nepotism laws...
Guess he could always be a "volunteer"..

Just based off wins and loses and the gravity of the Tennessee womens job. That is what I am basing it on. IT would be like Kentucky men hiring Greg McDermott. Honestly it's almost the same type of deal.

Fulmer (and by extension, Tennessee) are running a certain risk with Harper. While she is a former player and familiar with the expectations at Tennessee, she also does not have the resume that would jump off the page to a program of its caliber. It’s also a question of why Tennessee would go to the lower ranks to hire a coach, when its reputation and support label it as a top-5 destination in women’s college basketball.

I read on the TN boards that she would be able to hire her husband, as that was vetted right after the expressed interest was released.

After attending the MSU games in Ames, and in Chicago, I was quite impressed with how Holly ran things. She has an excellent court demeanor, listens to her players, coaches, and it was clear everyone around her respected her. She made a lot of great adjustments.

Kellie took over NCST with a bare cupboard, and it wasn't like Yow was tearing it up. Yow had 1 ranked team in the last 9 years of her tenure. It wasn't like NC St was a big name program at that time. Her cancer and the Yow foundation really elevated the brand. She, like other "old school" coaches, was very successful before WBB took off.
