Selling NCAA Tournament Ticket Question

We bought tickets for the tournament in DSM but are planning on selling one of the sessions on Thursday. This is my first time selling tickets on a 3rd party site and was wondering if anyone had suggestions or tips regarding the best site to sell them on.

Would it be best to post them on Stubhub or the preferred NCAA Tournament ticket vender PrimeSport or others?

I only plan on posting to one site and had never heard of PrimeSport prior to this year. Does anyone have good/bad experiences with any 3rd party sites or know where most fans will look to purchase tickets?

Thanks for your thoughts!

I'm going to track this thread for responses too. Also have tickets to sell and have never sold tickets outside of Craigslist.

I've bought tix on Vivid, so I'm thinking about going that route for selling mine, but interested to hear people experiences. I have the physical tickets, but I know that Vivid only handles electronic transfers so a bit curious how that works.

Try selling on here. I know people are looking for tickets including me. Then you can avoid the fees. I know stubhub has big time fees

How much are you willing to pay for lower level behind the basket?

It sucks that Stub Hub has so many fees but they get a ton of traffic, so thats the route I would go. Good luck selling session 1 or 2, you couldn't give those tickets away 3 years ago.

Really? I sold mine for $240 a piece to a KU fan

Sorry, My post was kind of vague... Your best chances of moving session 1 and 2 for decent cash will be ahead of time. Day of the street value will drop like a rock and that's exactly what happened 3 years ago.

DSM was the first location to sellout from my understanding...and that was months ago. Some locations probably aren't' even sold our yet. There will be a big rush as soon as teams are announced as the visiting teams fans quickly find out the very limited availability of tickets here. I think that is when a person will need to sell. You might recall that was some of the grumbling by the fanbases early on last time DSM hosted...i.e...limited seats available and at only high 2nd market prices.

I guess I never assumed Fanatic would be a great source to sell if ISU isnt there, but worth a shot. Thanks!

Same here with the physical tickets. I haven't looked into Stubhub yet, but PrimeSport looked pretty straight forward. I assume it is close to the same process on Stubhub and other sites. My fear is posting on PrimeSport just because it is the preferred vendor, but that site not generating much traffic because of the low brand awareness.

In 2016, Stubhub had a temporary on-site location at a downtown Des Moines hotel to help faciliate ticket exchanges. I don't believe it cost any extra above their normal fees.

Good luck. In 2016, I had a hell of a time even getting my money back let alone making a profit. And that was with the supposed best draw in history.

How good were your seats you sold?

Section 120, lower level corner. I know some people sold them during that season when Iowa was riding high and looked to be a shoo-in for Des Moines. I held out but went to work the moment the brackets were announced. It's possible I priced them too high but I doubt it...I was monitoring things pretty closely to stay competitive.

Has anyone who received the paper tickets in the mail been able to get a PDF version to make it easier to sell online? The original NCAA ticket link I used to purchase the tickets has expired and is no longer available.
