I'm about to sign up for the 10 week course. I want the non-sales pitch info from those who have done it or know someone who did.

What am I about to experience?
What are the goods and bads?
For those who have had success, what were your keys other than the obvious (stick with the diet, etc)?
Any secrets/tips that improve the experience?

[I realize there is a thread from 2007 on this same topic, but I'd like some more recent experiences]

The people I know that stuck with the program had obvious results. The ones that didn't stick with it keep saying they want go back and try again.

Be prepared to get your butt kicked the first few weeks. After that you still work hard but you've built up some stamina.

I would call it a fad diet. Lose weight but then life happens and you fall off the workouts and you are back to square one. Try KETO and your own in-home workout (treadmill/bench press) you will see the same results with a better lifestyle change for the long run.

Agreed. All of my coworkers have quit it. They also didn't change their diet. Literally throwing money down the drain.

Yup seen it countless times myself, at least a dozen people I know. If you have “time” to workout 6 days a week for multiple years, have at it, but most people have children/career making it next to impossible to be that workout intensive. I’m at the same weight as I was in high school, down 40 pounds in 2 years from Keto (50 carbs a day with a cheat day every other week) and having my own workout equipment.

Make sure to set a goal to help keep you motivated even if it is goofy. Some of my past goals were to hit a homerun in slowpitch softball, look good in a tanktop and beat my neighbor in Dam to Dam (he beat me).

The problem with 10 week courses is what happens in 10 weeks? IMO, you have to commit to a lifestyle change (as far as foods and exercise) to really lose a significant amount of weight and keep it off.

Three parts to it. The most important is diet, the second is bands\strength, and third is the actual kick boxing\cardio. If you have to skip anything skip the cardio portion. Most people skip the bands because those days are challenging and not nearly as fun as cardio. The faster you build muscle with bands the better chance you are going to see results. So that would be my main "trick". If you do not see results you really need to be honest about what you are eating every day and adjust your potions if everything else is in line.

Good luck. I hope you see great results!

What are your thoughts on supplemental workouts during the 10 weeks. I’m not talking anything crazy. Like maybe a 3 mile run on sundays. Worth it or better to rest those days?

For me, I need the group accountability. Of course Farrell’s isn’t the only way to get that, but it’s part of why I want to do it.

I’ve said it before I love it. My body is pretty brittle though so I keep hurting myself (this would occur with any program so save the remarks).

Keep the diet. It’s easier than you think. Make as much stuff for the week as you can on Sunday or something.

If you’re like me, you’ll be sore for like 2 solid weeks when you start.

Depending on your body composition you may not see much weight loss. I’m a pretty naturally skinny guy so last time I did it I literally was the exact same weight at the end as the beginning, but I lost 8% body fat and waist dropped 3 inches. So don’t focus on the scale.

My body has been fairly consistent since college. I’m 6’2” and my weight varies from 210 - 220 depending on the time of year. I was about that same weight all through college with the exception of when I got up to 235 after sophomore year (graduated in 2009). I got all the way down to 185 for our wedding by biking to work every day plus having a physical job at the time.

I’ve put on some muscle since college, but would still like to get down close to 200, but more importantly, would like to cut 3 or 4 inches off my waist.
