Six NFL teams reached out to CMC?

I love CMC and not trying to be a ****...but my question is....why?

If the guy goes out over the next couple of years and wins a couple Big 12 Championships in Ames Iowa, then I could see maybe someone trying to do what the Rams did and hire an exciting young coach. That said, I don't think college success translates well to the pros, plenty of examples could be shared.

He is a great recruiter, seems to be able to develop talent...both things that wouldn't be top of the list for an NFL team. I guess they just like his ability to motivate the players, I don't see him as a great Xs and Os guy in the least.

Guess I'm not sure why you think this? His recruiting has been great but you don't turn around the team he was given in year two without killing it in that department. He has a pretty good pedigree of making the most out of limited talent.

His biggest strength is probably his management, building culture, etc. Not flashy stuff for the fans, but I'd rather have a proven leader than a good coordinator as HC.

NFL recycles and rehires losers constantly, nor is the guy with back-to-back 8-win seasons here of all places going to be viewed as a 'loser'.

I read his comment more like, "Well of course they reached out to CMC because the NFL doesn't go after a losing coach"

But I, as well as every resident of Detroit and Cleveland, agree with your sentiment about the constant recycling of losing coaches.

Kliff's hire and Cincinnati hiring Zac Taylor surprised me. I guess the current trend is to hire young and hope.

Bolded...really?

Motivation is what CPR and Mac lived off of.

ISU going 8-5 over the last two years is due to way more than just motivation and recruiting.

Someone with Walden in their handle probably isn't the best judge of X's and O's.

The Rams hired Jeff Fischer who was the biggest ******* loser coach in NFL history and then he proceeded to do nothing but lose more and more but they extended his contract twice.

Crazy dumb

I know a guy that played for Jeff Fisher when he was with the Titans. He said he was intense, but refused to elaborate any more than that. I got the feeling that was as nice of a comment as he could make.
