A lot needs to go right for her to do it, but Bridget has a shot at becoming ISU's all-time leading scorer.

Current Top 5:
Welle 2149
Wilson 1875
Taylor 1866
Carleton 1833
Olson 1799

Bridget needs:
34 points to pass Taylor
43 points to pass Wilson
167 points to hit 2000
317 to pass Welle

ISU remaining games:
8 regular season
1 to 3 Big 12 Tournament games (barring an utter collapse dropping us down to a 7 seed)
1 to 6 NCAA Tournament games (barring an utter collapse dropping us to the WNIT followed by turning down the WNIT invite because the collapse makes us just want the season to be over)

We'll play at least 10 games, most likely we'll play 12-14 games, and we could play as many as 17 games. For Bridget to be ISU's all-time leading scorer, she'll have to average:

10 games: 31.7 ppg
11 games: 28.8 ppg
12 games: 26.4 ppg
13 games: 24.4 ppg
14 games: 22.6 ppg
15 games: 21.1 ppg
16 games: 19.8 ppg
17 games: 18.6 ppg

She's currently averaging 23.5 ppg in conference games.

For some reason they've quit hanging banners at Hilton (men's too), hopefully Bridget gets one.

Last I heard of Wilson was she started a HS sports development business that took off. Welle's is going to be a pretty tough number to beat. But Wilson's career total may be reachable-as much as hate to see Lindsey's record fall. Wilson was relentless and won us a conference championship, Sweet Sixteen and more. Her remembering my name after shaking her hand at several events really amazed me!

She became the primary backcourt scorer in 01-02 after Taylor graduated, and then was the primary bright spot in a fairly dismal 02-03 season after Welle and Gahan graduated. She had just over 19 ppg both years.

pretty impressive considering she didn't play much her frosh year until Erica got mono before the tournament.

Junod got mono really early. She played the exhibition game(s) but didn't log a single minute that counted and ended up with a medical redshirt. Lindsey had 16.2 minutes per game (#6 on team) and 7.4 points per game (#5 on team) that year. Lindsey was slated to redshirt that season until Junod got mono.

It's kind of funny that Junod lost a season to mono but not to a torn ACL.
99-00: Caught mono in early November -- took a medical redshirt.
01-02: Tore her ACL in early November -- returned exactly three months later: http://www.iowastatedaily.com/sports/article_1cf7591e-7b4f-5284-a818-1d3d39ad05ee.html

The success of the team as others step up their scoring may bring her average down.

Or it may lead to more scoring.

2016 - 67.4
2017 - 73.8
2018 - 67.0
2019 - 82.0

ISU's highest all-time team PPG is 79.9, from that 99-00 offensive juggernaut of a team that had four players with at least 13 ppg (Welle, Frese, Francis, Taylor) plus Gahan and Wilson. It's astounding that this team might surpass that. Other than Francis (who "only" had 834 points in her 2-year ISU career), Gahan's 1,357 points is the lowest career total in that group.

Desiree Francis mention! One of my favs. One of the few (only?) Cyclones I've ever seen who could jump straight up and snatch a rebound out of the air. Pretty much every other player we've had can reach or hop a little for a rebound but Desiree could jump, really jump! :D

Honestly, that is a STAT! Though I have to wonder as we go through conference, and tournament games if that number will go down. But, to be even close....

I still feel that the success of ISU WBB hinges on the post, and Kristen seems to be proving that. With good post play scoring, Welle, Wieben, (Poppens, Prins, Christopherson era), now Scott, seems ISU is more successful.
