this one was just ugly all over. Why?
Bridget goes scoreless for most of first half and no one steps up.
WVU hits 24 of 29 free throws! WHAT? When did we turn into a foul-o-mastic team?
We have another poor shooting night only hitting 33% overall and ugh, 24% from three.
Pretty easy formula for a loss when you look at those three lines. Just another ugly shooting exhibition by the team. But what about all those fouls? Where did that come from?

Time for bed before I need some pepto.

WVU made 15 of their freebies in the 4th, so I suspect that many of the fouls were intentional at that point since they'd climed ahead as the clock wore down. I wasn't able to listen in, so I do not know for sure how it all happened. Just speculation on my part.

Definitely not a good game by any stretch. Two players foul out (which also leads to my conclusion). Aside from Bridget, no one had more than 13 points. Time to re-focus and knock the crap out of a down OU team this weekend.

BTW, #11 Texas got destroyed at Kansas State last night, 87-69. The same Kansas State team that lost in Hilton by 38. #headscratcher

We had five fouls in the last 50 seconds, four in the 9 minutes prior to that.

Until BF recruits some physical athletes ISU will continue to struggle against these bruiser type teams.

This game looked more like football than basketball.

I'm not someone who whines about physicality/games being too rough, but this game was a rugby match.

AND, Bill Fennelly needs to use his timeouts during the game instead of hoarding them completely to the end of halves/games. There were processions lost with our players having fought for loose balls that got surrounded and mugged and either tied up or turned it over, or times they just needed a breather and you could see it.

You are correct, Bill does not recruit rugby players, he goes for basketball players. I am old school (due to my actual age) and I like BB to be played the way it is supposed to be. When it is played that way it is a beautiful game to watch. What we see in many games today is rugby and IMO that fault goes to officials who will not blow their whistles even when the foul is right in front of them. Before I see the post that would make the games last way to long, if the calls were made teams that use that style would soon have to change as they would lose games at the line.

I thought we played terrible against Texas. It seemed like we were tentative on offense.

Honestly, wbb officiating relative to how brutal they let the game get is what keeps me wanting to watch their games. It's not just college either; been to a cousin's middle school/high school/travel team games and it's the same there. Been to a few community college wbb games as well in a couple different places and it was the same story there (recently heard a community college AD say it was the sport most likely to cause a fight in their conference because of style of play and officiating).

I think it just boils down to that's how many players are taught and enough coaches/administrators just accept that as normal. I hear how rough the NBA used to be before they decided to take that **** out of the game and I look at wbb as a whole and it mirrors it in a lot of ways.

Other than a few ball scramble scrums that should have had a whistle blown I didn't really think the game was that much of brawl.
