Right. He was an undersized guard who shot up in height late so suddenly you had a 6'7" small forward with guard skills. He was definitely under the radar.
Thanks. I didn't follow ISU MBB closely back then, but assumed he was a bigger deal coming in than he was.
Yeah, he was a definite diamond in the rough. Came in my sophomore year with no other major offers. McDermott and TJ found some good guys.

McD could and can recruit talent that wasn't the issue. Just couldn't keep them on campus long enough to get them to build a team.
Technically yes. However if rankings were around before then, Fizer and Grayer probably would have been higher.
It was hard to get too exited about Brackins because he was the third highest PF in the big 12 in his class, IIRC Durant and Griffin were in his class. Big 12 is nuts
Wesley Johnson? He dead.
That wasn't even that good of a good crossover... it was an offensive foul for pushing off on Harden if anything. Johnson would never have fallen down if not pushed to the ground.
Sign me up for the 3rd highest big 12 PF every year.

I would guess it would pay dividends in the next class. Not exactly a ton of 150 guys available in the spring.
They had no seniors right? Did they sign anyone? With everyone back next year, they had almost no PT to offer either way.
Plus that run happened after almost all of the 2018 recruiting had taken place. Any recruiting impact that run will have will likely be with the 2019 class the most.
