The problem's plain to see:
Too much technology
Machines to save our lives.
Machines dehumanize.

I have a 12 year old son (seems like yesterday he was born) and this song speaks to me loudly and in my face Here is part of that song:

Freeze this moment
A little bit longer
Make each sensation
A little bit stronger
Make each impression
A little bit stronger
Freeze this motion
A little bit longer

The innocence slips away
The innocence slips away

Time stands still
Time stands still

I'm not looking back
But I want to look around me now
See more of the people
And the places that surround me now
Time stands still

Summer's going fast
Nights growing colder
Children growing up
Old friends growing older

Freeze this moment
A little bit longer
Make each sensation
A little bit stronger

Experience slips away
Experience slips away
The innocence slips away

Testifying
A few serious ones:

Living with Louie dog's the only way to stay sane.
-Sublime

Sorry that you feel that way, the only thing there is to say, every silver lining's got a touch of grey
-Grateful Dead

This one is incredibly powerful to me for personal reasons:

I think about you all the time but I don't need the same
It's lonely where you are come back down
And I won't tell 'em your name
-Goo Goo Dolls

I'm sure someone has posted these words to live by:

"Seven a.m., waking up in the morning
Gotta be fresh, gotta go downstairs
Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal
Seein' everything, the time is goin'
Tickin' on and on, everybody's rushin'
Gotta get down to the bus stop
Gotta catch my bus, I see my friends"

I think one of my favorites, especially in today's climate with all of the Trump and Weinstein sexual assault news running rampant, comes from TOOL's Pushit.

"There's no love in fear."

Two of them and the first one is even more meaningful today.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Blow up your TV throw away your paper
Go to the country, build you a home
Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches
Try and find Jesus on your own" - John Prine - "Spanish Pipedream"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

"There's a dark and a troubled side of life.
There's a bright and a sunny side too.
Though we meet with the darkness and strife,
The sunny side we also may view.

Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side,
Keep on the sunny side of life.
It will help us every day, it will brighten all the way,
If we keep on the sunny side of life.

Oh, the storm and its fury broke today,
Crushing hopes that we cherish so dear.
Clouds and storms will in time pass away.
The sun again will shine bright and clear.

Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side,
Keep on the sunny side of life.
It will help us every day, it will brighten all the way,
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life.

Let us greet with a song of hope each day.
Though the moments be cloudy or fair.
Let us trust in our Savior always,
To keep us, every one, in His care.

Keep on the sunny side, always on the sunny side,
Keep on the sunny side of life.
It will help us every day, it will brighten all the way,
If we'll keep on the sunny side of life.

If we'll keep on the sunny side of life" - A.P. Carter - "Keep On The Sunny Side"

not really advice but when I was in between jobs there was a line in a Coldplay song that I thought YES!

From 'Every Teardrop is a Waterfall'

'Maybe I'm in the black, maybe I'm on my knees, maybe I'm in the gap between the two trapezes.'

Just stuck with me having no job and wondering where I was gonna land so the 'gap between the two trapezes' made so much sense at the time. Hanging there with no net.
