We are the Yankees' *****.

Ugh. No room for error now. And our reward if we DO make the playoffs? A trip to NYC.

Unbelievably, even with this sweep, we are still sitting in decent shape for that 2nd wildcard slot as long as we don't crap the bed against Detroit.

Sigh, we could've really used Sano in this series. Cy Young, too.

i don't understand how one team can consistently **** the bed against another team when all statistics and logic say it shouldn't happen. there has to be some curse.

Just seems like they are beaten before it even starts. "Oh, God, no.......we can't beat the NEW YORK YANKEES, for cryin out loud!!!"

Hopefully they will take their frustrations out on the Tigers (and Indians, LOL).

Had a long lunch mtg so missed all but the 1st, 8th and 9th. Yanks are pretty hot right now. Bullpen allowed allowed no runs in the series and most everyone other then Cano seems to be hitting pretty well. Judge appears to finally be out of his slump and Didi and Sanchez are hitting up a storm. Didi most homers by a Yank SS and he missed almost all of April. He is tailor made for that short right field fence. Even this summer's overpaid bum, Ellsbury, is hitting.

As a Yankee fan, I'd rather play the Angels in a one gamer since at some point this mastery of the Twin is going to end.

Sure is a nice time to see the Angles get swept as well. Gave the Twins room for error. Looks like Twins will win tonight so should increase the lead.

Glad to see Miggy has packed it in for the season. He killed us in his MVP years.
Molly should have guys bunt the first base line as MG barely wants to move.

He's been pretty bad this year, but he's still one of those guys (like Paul Konerko, Frank Thomas, Gentleman Jim and Reggie Jackson) that were always a threat to knock the cover off the ball when we least needed it.

Twins sweep Detroit. Their magic number is 3.

Royals and Rangers lose. Angels are down early. The magic number might just be 2 by the end of the night.

Going to the game against Detroit on Saturday. At the time we planned that, I remember thinking they'd be out of the race, for sure. Then I thought the race would be tight going into the final weekend of the season. Turns out they're going to lock up that playoff spot early in the week!

Saw the Twins have a 96% chance now to making the playoffs.

Assuming they do, I assume they'll make sure the rotation is set so that Santana is starting in NYC?

They'd have to. And have Berrios ready if need be. You do all you can to make it through that wildcard game, IMO.

Agreed. You gotta treat it like game 7 of the WS. Live to fight another day. Who knows, you can throw Colon and get a ton of run support in the ALDS. Can't save anything.
