I grew up Lutheran but got connected to a church in Ames that changed my life. I have truly been challenged to develop around Christ's principles and to become mature in my faith. The community is small (~35 people including kids) so it is a tight knit family environment. I have been mentored for a couple years by one of the leaders who has invested time into my life and given me direction that I never had in another church setting. My particular church group is called "The Well."
I would encourage you to check it out. We are a bunch of younger (~20-30 year old) people with a real desire to follow Christ and make a difference in Ames and around the world. Good choice with ISU by the way. I graduated in December '08 and fell in love with the place. I met my wife there and got connected with an amazing group of people. Take care bro.
