Eli's career is so weird. The guy has the 2 Super Bowl wins and a then a whole lot of nothing. Only category he ever led the league in was picks; never received even 1 All Pro nod and he's probably getting in first ballot.

As for the Bears... I love the Bears but Caleb was right to question going to the Bears. The McCaskey's don't fire coaches until they absolutely have to, but these clowns last year were so bad they broke the glass on the 1 thing they never do and that's can a coach in season. They have built their entire organizational identity on defense for over 100 years and they went out and broke the bank for one of the brightest offensive minds in the game. That is un-bearslike

Will it work? Who knows but I am shocked they took the swing.
If Eli gets in the HOF it’s because he threw the ball at the helmet of his teammate. Otherwise 244 interceptions don’t look good on your resume.
Edit: Plus outside of the two Super Bowl years he was an o fer for playoffs. Plunketts Raider teams were much more dominate in their two Super Bowl wins.

He's getting in because of his family AND his two rings.

So a multi billion dollar franchise drafts a good quarterback and just lets him watch film with no direction? Wow. Sad that the ownership cares that little about the growth of their players and even less about their fans.
Bears ownership woke up at home plate and think they hit a home run. Being from Chicagoland I was a huge Bears fan growing up, but I officially vowed to cut ties and root against them 15 years ago until the ownership eventually changed. These past 15 years have been truly enjoyable watching the perpetual hope and delusion every off-season turn into tears before Halloween.

With the Caleb deal. I remember seeing in the papers last season how he supposedly did his homework and loved the fit in Chicago. I called BS from the beginning.

They didn't do anything when Peyton got drafted, he went to one of the worst franchises in all of sports Indy was a Qb graveyard. Why do you assume they would do anything for Arch?

The really interesting thing about both the cases you mentioned is that both guys were 100% correct, both won multiple super bowls and both will be in the Hall of Fame.
If rolls were reversed they would have done that with Peyton(if needed). They had that pull with Eli because he was Peyton’s little brother.

Eli in the Hall needs to happen.

Sort of the definition of the "this needs to happen it would be so ******* funny" meme.

Or, and hear me out, Caleb would have led the Vikings to an NFC championship game where an inexplicable failure by the usually reliable special teams led to a loss, followed by a training camp injury the next year that exploded both knees and led to him using a walker for the rest of his life (even with the walker he was able to lead the Vikings to three winning seasons but zero playoff wins in the next six years before retiring).

You talking about maybe the greatest catch of all time? That play?

That play is such a microcosm in sealing the Pats' fate with the whole game feeling so precarious, and also how things that hadn't happened in previous close wins can eventually catch up at the most important time.

If one Pats defender just has a little better grip on the jersey he goes down, or if his throw is just a hair off it's an incompletion/INT.

Sportsball.

Or the vikings make it to the Super Bowl against a 9-9 team with a left handed quarterback and lose 27-3 and don’t go back to the Super Bowl for another 50 years. the coach of the other team retires and has a popular video game named after him.

The Vikings going 14-3 last year, only to get drubbed in the playoffs to no surprise of about anyone paying attention is all we need to know that assuming Williams would have a historic career there is wild.

It blew my mind live. I'll never forget it. Just making that catch against one of the greatest safeties to play the game is incredible.

I remember telling a friend before it started that I felt like it was going to be a weird game and then something wild will happen at the end for the Giants to win.

I don't bet and I'm not sure how you bet on that scenario since it's not concrete but I would have come out pretty good if it held up.

And then proceeded to never catch another pass again. Dude never even had another target in his career after that catch.

50 or so catches in his career; yet will always be shown every February.
